CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Eastern Illinois men hosted Lindenwood (Mo.) on Sunday at the Dodds Tennis Center in Champaign following a late night match on Saturday at UIC. The Panthers lost 6-1 to Lindenwood.
The Panther men returned from a late night match on Saturday against UIC to host NCAA Division II member Lindenwood on Sunday morning.
Lindenwood won the opening point taking the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches. EIU was leading 4-3 at No. 3 doubles when the point was clinched.
Freddie O'Brien and
Logan Charbonneau were playing at No. 3 doubles with the advantage over Hector Horcajada and Theo Butaeye.
???????Charbonneau would secure the Panthers lone point of the match wining at No. 3 singles in straight sets. Charbonneau defeated Michele Gaspari 6-3, 6-2.
Two singles matches would be decided on a third set tie-break with both matches falling in favor of Lindenwood.
Grant Reiman lost in the third set at No. 2 singles to Naoufal El Idrisse.
Braden Davis fell in the third set at No. 6 singles to Guillaume Teste.
EIU fell to 3-10 on the season.
