Swimmers Travel to Western Illinois

EIU swimming travels to Western Illinois this weekend

Charleston, Ill.- The Eastern Illinois swimming teams will travel to Macomb, Illinois to take on Western Illinois and South Dakota on Saturday at 11 am.

Both the men's & women's units will take on Western Illinois and South Dakota.

SWIMMERS HAVE STRONG SHOWING AGAINST EVANSVILLE
Scott House was the top finisher for the Panther men earning first place honors in the 50-Free (21.43) and 100-Free (47.45).

The quartet of Forrest Baumgartner, Race Archibald , Ivan Escott,, and House earned the Panthers their first when of the evening touching the wall at 1:36.82 in the 200-Medley Relay. The quartet of Jaylan Butler, Nick Harkins, Baumgartner, and House earned first place honors in the 200-Free Relay (1.26.77) to wrap up the evening.

Ethan Dolan earned a second place finishes in the 100-Back touching the wall at 54.44 and 200-Back at 1:58.86.  Archibald took second place in the 100-Breast with his time of 1:01.16. Alex Laleian earned second place honors in the 200-Breast at 2:18.69. Escott touched the wall second in the 100-Fly at 52.52. Joel Talley took second in the 400-IM at 4:20.34.

 The Panther women earned two-second place finishes Wednesday evening. Grace Kennedy touched the wall second in the 50-Free at 25.42. Julia Martin earned second place honors in the 100-Fly with her time of 1:02.03

THE COMPETITION
Western Illinois heads into the weekend looking for their first win of the season. The Western Illinois women head into the weekend sporting a record of 0-3, while the men have a record of 0-2.

A LOOK AHEAD
Following this weekend's meet against Western Illinois, EIU will welcome Indiana State to Padovan Pool on Jan. 18.
