Panthers Take Home Four First Place Finishes

Frank keeps moving up the All-time list

CHARLESTON, Ill. – 
The Eastern Illinois men's & women's track and field teams had a total of four first-place finishes at the Illinois Invitational. On the men's side, Swanson, Oakley, and Hatfield placed first in their events and Danielle Frank won her event.

The men were led by Dustin Hatfield in the 3000 as he placed first with a personal best time of 8:34.25. With that time, he moved up to number two in the OVC. Adam Swanson Placed first in the 800 with a time of 1:55.97 which moved him up to number two in the OVC. Nick Oakley Placed first in the mile with a time of 4:17.68 which moves him up to number three in the OVC.

Other top-five finishers were, Payton Powell who placed fourth in the 200, Anthony Bello placed third in the 400 with a time of 50.53 which moves him up to number five in the OVC. James Allen placed third in the 600 and Jamie Marcos placed third in the mile with a time of 4:20.32.  

In the field events, Matthew Ogilvie placed fifth in the pole vault with a vault of 14-1 3/4. Joe Smith placed second in the long jump with a leap of 22-0 3/4, Brady Webb was right behind him in fifth with a jump of 21-3 1/4.

In the Heptathlon Preston Skinner placed third with a score of 4113 which puts him second in the OVC, Aiden Meyer placed fifth in the heptathlon with a score of 3735.

The women were led by Danielle Frank who placed fourth in the 60 with a time of 7.67 which moves her up to number eight on the EIU All-time list. In the 200 she won with a time of 25.30 which moves her up to number four in the OVC.

Other top-five finishers were, Zakiya Johnson, placing fifth in the 400 with a time of 59.85. In the mile, Lindsey Carlson placed fourth with a time of 5:03.09 which moves her up to number four in the OVC. In the 3000 Kate Bushue placed second with a time of 10:11.31 and Avani Flanagan was right behind her in fourth.

In the 60-meter hurdles, Shanisa Stinson placed fourth with a time of 8.93. The A team in the 4x400 placed second with a time of, 3:56.68

The Panthers are back in action Friday and Saturday at the Iowa Black and Gold Premier in Iowa City, Iowa.
