Eastern Illinois men's and women's tennis return to action this weekend as the two teams will play a series of matches on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The EIU men will play at Illinois Tech on Friday afternoon before facing North Dakota on Friday night in a neutral site match. On Sunday, EIU will travel to Ball State.

The EIU women will be in action on Saturday afternoon at Northern Illinois.

The Panther men improved to 6-1 last weekend as they lost at Illinois State and beat UIC.  The No. 1 doubles team of
Daniel Hernandez and
Freddie O'Brien has improved to 4-0 on the season.Â

In singles play Hernandez has posted four wins, the most of any EIU player this spring. He has played between No. 2 and No. 3 singles. O'Brien is 3-2 this season at No. 1 singles.

Christos Kyrillou and
Pau Riera have each added three singles wins this spring for EIU as the Panthers have a combined 24-14 singles play record this year.

The EIU women had a busy weekend as they fell to 5-4 with matches against Illinois State, Milwaukee, Eastern Michigan and Illinois. The Panthers lone victory over the weekend was against Milwaukee.

Rachel Papavasilopoulos continued her impressive start to the 2020 spring season as she is 6-0 in singles play at the No. 1 position. Papavasilopoulos now has 29 career No. 1 singles wins.

Elizaveta Bukraba-Ulanova now has four wins on the year while
Brittany Steven and
Lauren Ellis have each posted three wins this spring.
