Eastern Illinois men's tennis wrapped up play at the Panther Hidden Duals on Saturday as the Panthers hosted the two-day event featuring players from EIU, Chicago State, Illinois Springfield and Lewis.
Friday's action was played outside at the Rex Darling Courts while rain forced Saturday's action inside to the Lantz Fieldhouse.
On Friday,
Leighton Brandon picked up a three-set win in singles over Tomas Martinez of Illinois Springfield. Brandon won 6-4, 2-6, 10-7. In doubles action
Christos Kyrillou and
Thomas Wallace picked up a 6-3 win over a doubles pair from Lewis. The Panthers pair of Max Pilipovic-Klajajic and
Will Ulrich picked up a 6-2 win over a mixed doubles team featuring
Ruslan Pultz of EIU playing with Andrej Zoranovic from Lewis.
On Saturday the Panthers added another pair of singles wins. Kyrillou won a straight set match over Javier Sanchez Pradillo, 6-3, 6-3. Ulrich, a freshman, won his first collegiate singles match with an 8- win over Zoranovic of Lewis.
In doubles play Pilipovic-Klajajic teamed with Pultz on Saturday with the pair beating a doubles team from UIS, 6-4.
