ON-TAP:Â Eastern Illinois swimming will travel to Indiana State for the Indiana State Tri-Meet. The men's team will compete against Bellarmine while the women's team will compete against Indiana State and Bellarmine. The Panthers are coming off 11 A Final finishes at the A3 Performance Invite hosted by Southern Illinois.
LAST MEETING:Â Both Panther squads last played Bellarmine in the A3 Performance Invite on Nov. 13. The men's team finished in fifth place while Bellarmine finished in third. The EIU women's team finished in fourth in the A3 Invite while Bellarmine finished in third. The women's squad last played Indiana State last season at Padovan Pool when the Sycamores defeated the Panthers 74-189.
MEN'S RECAP: Spencer Wilson andÂ
Forrest Baumgartner had the highest individual finishes for the EIU men at the A3 Performance meet.  Wilson was sixth in the 200 free with a time of 1:43.33. Baumgartner was sixth in the 100 back with a time of 53.02. Connor Colston was eighth in the 200 free with a time of 1:43.96. Wilson and Colston would swim the opening and anchor legs on the Panthers 400 free relay team that placed fourth with a time of 3:06.55. The relay team featured all freshmen swimmers for EIU withÂ

Alex Adams had a pair of top performances as he was eighth in the A Final of the 200 back with a time of 2:01.43. Adams would win the B Final of the 100 fly with a time of 51.18.Â
Jacob Nichols and Colin Feliciano rounded out the EIU swimmers with top performances. Nichols won the B Final of the 200 fly with a time of 1:53.35. Feliciano was eighth in the A Final of the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.05.
WOMEN'S RECAP: Kennedy Darensbourg had the highest individual finish for the Panthers during theA3 Invite as she placed second in the 1,650 free with a time of 17:47.72.Â
Camryn Lewis had a fourth place individual finish for the EIU women in the 50 free with a time of 24.02. She would swim on two relay teams that posted third place finishes at the meet. Lewis swam the opening leg on the 200 free relay that had a time of 1:36.80. She was the anchor leg on the 200 medley relay that had a time of 1:47.35. Lewis was joined on the 200 free relay team byÂ

Maddie Pittman rounded out the EIU women's swimmers that reached A Finals. Ballantyne was seventh in the 400 IM with a time of 4:40.99. Glasgow was seventh in the 100 fly with a time of 58.98. Pittman was eighth in the 200 free with a time of 1:58.04.
NEXT UP:Â After the Panthers perform at the Indiana State Tri-Meet, they will return to Padovan Pool on Jan. 15 at 12 p.m. to face-off against IUPUI.
HEAD COACH: Coach Donges comes to EIU after a successful one-year stop at Anderson University where he coached swimmers on the men's and women's teams to 22 school records last season. In 2019, Donges was head coach at the EXOS/Bryan Glazer Jewish Community Center in Tampa, Florida. He developed the swimming fitness program for the team and was in charge of recruiting for the club. He coached for seven years with Yorktown Swim Club, beginning in 2012, taking over as head coach in 2015. During his time as head coach, Donges oversaw the direction of swimming for all athletes at the Yorktown Swim Club. He also took the lead in marketing and recruitment associated with Yorktown Swim Club. He graduated from Ball State University with both a bachelor's and master's degree.
