Eastern Illinois men's and women's swimming drop their meets today at Indiana State. Both teams stand at 1-3 on the season. The men's team lost their meet to Bellarmine 95-167, and the women's team lost to Indiana State 66-193 and to Bellarmine 121-141.
The men's team started their day with a first place finish in the 200 yard relay with the team of
Forrest Baumgartner,
Collin Feliciano,
Jacob Nichols, and
Dismas Dillon. They finished with a time of 1:35.58. Wilson also finished third in the 1000 yard free with a time of 10:16.47.
Jacob Wienants posted a second place finish for EIU in the 200 yard free with a time of 1:48.48. Felicinao picked up a second place finish in the 100 yard breast with a time of 1:00.67. Dillon earned the second win for the men's team in the 50 yard free with a time of 21.29.
Payton Buse also finished second in the 50 free with a time of 22.04.Â
Buse would then add a first place finish in the 100 free with a time of 48.59 while Dillion earned second place with a time of 49.30. Connor Colston got on the board with a second place finish in the 500 yard free (4:55.31). EIU men's swimming ended the meet with a first place finish in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:15.04. The team was comprised of
Spencer Wilson, Buse, Dismas, and Colston.
The women's team got started with a third place finish from
Ashley Glesing in the 100 yard breast with a time of 1:08.82. Cameryn Lewis finished fourth in the 50 yard free with a time of 24.87.Â
Maddie Pittman added a fourth place finish in the 500 yard free with a time of 5:33.67.
Corinne Staneart picked up a second place finish in the 100 yard free with a time of 1:01.47.
Emma Ballantyne also added a second place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:18.35. The women's day came to a close with a second place finish in the 400 yard relay with the team of Pittman,
Autumn Grinter,
Kaylan Ottosen, and Lewis (3:45.04).
Both teams will be back in Padovan Pool on Saturday, Jan. 15 against IUPUI.
