Eastern Illinois women's and men's tennis will both be in action this weekend as both teams play a single non-conference match before opening up Ohio Valley Conference play next weekend.

The EIU women will play on Friday afternoon at Bradley. The Panthers are 1-6 on the season following a pair of road losses last weekend. Â

Rachel Papavasilopoulos continues to perform well at No. 1 singles as she is 6-1 on the season. She is 5-1 in doubles play this season teaming with both
Christine Gouws and
Lauren Ellis in doubles play.Â

Brittany Steven and Elizaveta Ulanova-Bukraba have also performed well this spring with both collecting three wins in singles play.

Bradley is 4-3 on the season. This will be the 35th time the two schools have met on the tennis court with the all-time series tied at 17-17.

On the men's side EIU will travel for a single match at Marquette on Saturday.  EIU is 2-6 on the season after playing three matches in two days last weekend in the Cincinnati area.

In doubles play this season the tandem of
Pau Riera and
Karan Srivastava have posted a 2-0 record at No. 2 doubles.  Srivastava is one of two EIU players with three wins in singles play this spring.

Charles Courteau joins Srivastava for the team lead in singles wins at three while
Cameron Slabbert has posted a 2-1 record at No. 6 singles.

EIU will face a Marquette team that is 4-4 on the season. Marquette leads the all-time series 17-1.
