2021 Cross Country Schedule

Erin Howarth has released the Panthers schedule for the fall of 2021 as teams return to a normal competition cycle.
The Panthers will open the season on Friday, Sept. 3 hosting the EIU Walt Crawford Open. The women's 5K race will begin at 3:45 p.m. followed by the men's 8K race at 4:30 p.m. The event takes place at the Tom Woodall Panther Trail on the EIU campus.
EIU will then stay in the local area for its second meet of the season on Sept. 18 competing at the John McNichols Invitational hosted by Indiana State.
A trip to the Louisville Cross Country Classic opens the month of October on Saturday the 2nd. EIU's final non-conference meet will take place on Friday, Oct. 15 at the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria.
This year's Ohio Valley Conference Championship will be hosted by Tennessee State and take place at Percy Warner Park in Nashville on Saturday, Oct. 30.
The NCAA Midwest Regional will be hosted by Iowa on Nov. 12 and Florida State is this year's NCAA National Championship host on Nov. 20 in Tallahassee.
Last season the EIU men won the OVC cross country championship with Howarth being named the OVC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year. EIU had five men's runners and four women's runners earn All-OVC honors with five collecting first team All-OVC honors. Richie Jacobo was named the OVC Male Freshman of the Year. EIU would have both its men's and women's teams ranked in the final USTFCCCA Regional poll with the men ranked 11th and the women ranked 15th.
