CARBONDALE, Ill. - Eastern Illinois swimming wrapped their meet at the A3 Performance Invitational Saturday evening after three days of competing. The Eastern Illinois women's team finish in third overall while the men's finished in fifth place.
Kennedy Darensbourg started off the final day with a third place finish in the women's 1650 freestyle with a time of 17:40.01. It marked the first time this season that any EIU swimmers participated in that race.
Spencer Wilson finished fifth in the same event on the men's side with a time of 16:39.34.
Camryn Lewis took home the gold on Saturday in the 100 free with a time of 52.33. Lewis led all Panthers with two first places finishes throughout the weekend.
Autumn Grinter also won the B final in the 100 free with a finals time of 53.54.
On the men's side,
Dismas Dillon won the B final in the 100 free with a time of 46.37.
Corinne Staneart was also able to break her third record of the afternoon by posting a new EIU record time in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.97). She finished third overall in the finals.
Andrew Herman would earn himself a B finals victory in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:07.07.
Cydney Adams earned a top eight finish in the A finals of the 200 butterfly with a seventh place finish and a time of 2:09.94.
Olivia Viele also won the B final in that event (2:10.87).
The weekend concluded with a third place finish in the women's 400 freestyle relay led by Grinter, Lewis, Staneart and
Izzy Glasgow. They posted a finals time of 3:33.73. The men's team of Herman, Wienants, Dillon and Connor Colston finished in fifth (3:09.88).
