INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -  Eastern Illinois men and women's swimming competed at the Butler Double Dual in Indianapolis, Ind. on Sunday afternoon. Panthers started their 2022-23 season on the road before returning home to Padovan Pool on October 22.

EIU competed in 26 events on Sunday against Butler, Saint Louis, IUPUI, Belalrmine and Xavier. The women's 200 yard medley relay team of Izzy Glasgow, Ellie Lawerence, Isabella Earll and Emma Keith opened the meet with a first place finish with a time of 1:31.17.

Spencer Wilson returned to the pool with a sixth place finish in the men's 1000 yard free with a time of 10:12.94. Wilson along with Conner Colston, Dismas Dillon, Jacob Wienants finished fifth in the men's 400 free relay to end the meet with a time of 3:13.76.

Kaylan Ottosen swam into a ninth place finish in the women's 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.95. Camryn Lewis also posted a fifth place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.88. Lewis finished in fourth last season in that same event at the Summit League Championships.

On the men's side, Colston posted a time of 48.21 in the 100 yard free which put him at fifth place for the race. He also had a seventh place finish at Butler in the 200 yard free with a time of 1:46.43. Dillon also landed EIU a second place finish in the 50 free (21.39).

Corinne Staneart landed the other first place finish for the Panthers in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:25.11.

Head coach Johnathan Jordan said this after his first meet as head coach: "Although we came up shy of the wins the team learned a great deal about themselves and their races that we will be able to use in the upcoming meets,".

The Panthers will have a bye week before heading off the Muncie, Ind. to face-off at Ball State University.
