GAME 3
Eastern Illinois hosts Valparaiso on Sunday afternoon as the Panthers play the first of just three non-conference home games this season with only two of those played in Lantz Arena. EIU also hosts North Dakota on Dec. 7 and then will play Milwaukee on Dec.15 in a game played at Lake Land College in Mattoon. EIU is 0-2 on the season after road losses this week at IUPUI and Indiana. EIU is looking to avoid its first 0-3 start to a season since the 2014-15 campaign. This will be the season opener for Valparaiso after the Beacons went 7-23 last season.
MONAHAN IN DOUBLE FIGURES
Junior guard
Miah Monahan was the lone Eastern Illinois player in double figures in Thursday's loss at No. 9 Indiana. Monahan was 6-of-13 from the field as she is now averaging 10.5 points per game for the season. She was 1-of-1 on 3-pointers with the other 12 shots coming on mid-range jumpers or drives to the basket. It was the 16th career double figure game for Monahan who was named to the preseason All-OVC team after averaging 9.2 points and 4.8 assists per game last season.
COLSON WITH A CAREER HIGH
Forward
Ellie Colson battled against a much bigger line-up on Thursday night in the Panthers road loss at No. 9 Indiana. The junior was able to remain active during 20 minutes of action on the floor as she finished with a career high seven points going 3-of-7 from the field and 1-of-2 from the foul line. Colson also pulled down two defensive boards. She did not score in the season opener at IUPUI but did collect three rebounds. Colson's previous offensive career high was six points last January against SIUE.
