AKRON, Ohio – The Eastern Illinois women's swimming team returned to action this week at the Akron Zippy Invite, which began Thursday morning and finished up on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers competed against a number of different teams from across the country, including Akron, Cornell, Keiser, PennWest Clarion, Oakland, and UC Santa Barbara.
On day two,
Camryn Lewis clocked a time of 23.77 in the 50 freestyle, which is the fourth fastest time in EIU history, just behind the 23.58 time she recorded at the SIU Invite a few weeks back.
The following day,
Kaylan Ottosen complete the 100 butterfly in 58.88 seconds, which lands just outside the EIU top 10.
Also on Saturday, the EIU 200 freestyle relay team recorded a time of 1:38.68, which sits just outside of the top five as the sixth fastest time in school history.
The Panthers will now get another lengthy break before returning to competition following the New Year. Eastern will travel to UIC on January 13th before hosting Evansville a week later on January 20th.Â
