MIMS, Fla. – Eastern Illinois men's golf wrapped up play at the Carpenter/Chaney Classic on Saturday with a close loss to Bellarmine in the match-play event.
EIU dropped its final match 3-2-1 as they finished the weekend with an 0-3 record in match play. EIU lost 6-0 to Tennessee Tech in the opening round and lost 5-0-1 to UT Martin in the second round on Friday.
The Panthers closed out the event played at Indian River Preserve Golf Club.
Trey Oswald had one of the Panthers two wins in the match as he and Davis Billows were tied after 12 holes. Oswald built a two-hole lead winning the 13th and 14th holes. He would have his lead shrink to one hole losing the 17th before winning the 18th to win by two.
Pierce Allord would collect the other win for EIU winning by one over Jensen Klondike. The two were even after 13 holes. Allord would win the 14th hole and the two split the final four holes for Allord to pick up the win. Allord posted a tie on Friday against UT Martin.
