The Eastern Illinois women's basketball program had two players recognized as Academic All-District honorees as College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) released its men's and women's basketball Academic All-District rolls this week. Earning Academic All-District honors for the Panthers were
Miah Monahan and
Morgan Litwiller.
Both EIU players will be on the ballot for Academic All-America consideration. EIU has had 47 Academic All-Americans including three from women's basketball. Previous EIU women's basketball Academic All-Americans include Linda Ellsworth (1980) and Nancy Kassebaum (1982 and 1983).
Monahan has a 3.75 GPA in Business Analytics and Information Systems. Litwiller has a 3.69 GPA in Sport Management.
EIU women's basketball will play its final two games of the regular season this week at home hosting Morehead State on Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Tennessee Tech on Saturday at 1 p.m.
A total of four players from the Ohio Valley Conference were recognized as Academic All-District with two of the four from Eastern Illinois.
