MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Eastern Illinois men and women's swimming wrapped up their first day at the Summit League Championships in Minneapolis, Minn. Wednesday evening. This concluded day one of four for the Panthers this week.
The team of
Andrew Herman,
Canyon Bain,
Sebastian Rosales and
Dismas Dillon were the talk of the team Wednesday afternoon after breaking the Eastern Illinois record in the men's 200 medley relay with a time of 1:31.06 which ranked seventh during the meet.
The women's team also finished in seventh with a time of 1:45.49 which set their new personal best. The team was comprised of
Olivia Viele, Staneart, Ottosen and
Camryn Lewis.
The women's 800 yard freestyle relay team of
Corinne Staneart,
Kaylan Ottosen,
Kennedy Darensbourg, and
Phoebe Croston also earned a seventh place finish on day one. They finished with a time of 7:50.72.
On the men's side in the 800 free relay, they would post a sixth place finish. The team of
Conner Colston,
Spencer Wilson, Jacob Weinants and Zachary Clark finished with a time of 6:49.44.
Eastern Illinois will be back tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. CT. in Minneapolis, Minn. for day two of the Summit League Championships.
