MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Eastern Illinois swimming wrapped up their 2022-23 season at the Summit League Swimming and Diving Championships hosted in Minneapolis, Minn. Both Panther squads would finish in seventh place overall.
On the final day of the championships,
Andrew Herman broke into the top ten all-time in Eastern Illinois history in the 100 yard Individual Medley race with a time of 51.11. He currently ranks second all-time only behind Steve Fisherman who set the record in 2018.
Dismas Dillon continued his record breaking weekend into the final day of competition with a time of 44.96 in the men's 100 yard freestyle. His name now ranks third in Eastern Illinois history. He would also finish in seventh in the A finals.
Olivia Viele would also claim the top spot in school history in the women's 200 fly with a finals time of 2:07.72. The previous best time was set by Kate Paige in 2014 (2:09.53).
Eastern Illinois finished their championship weekend by setting 11 school records with multiple others placing in the top ten in school history.
