Eastern Illinois men's tennis returns to action this week as the Panthers host Chicago State on Friday at the Danville Tennis Center with an 11 am start.   EIU enters at 4-5 on the season following a split last weekend on the road.

EIU won on Friday at Olivet Nazarene and then lost on Saturday at Marquette.

Pau Riera secured the point for EIU winning at No. 2 singles at Marquette with a two set win.  Riera also won on Friday in two sets as he is the team leader in singles wins this spring at 5-4.  Riera has played at both No. 2 and No. 3 in the order with a 3-1 record at the No. 2 spot in the Panthers order.

Riera also played at No. 2 doubles with Alex Dinkov on Saturday with the pair leading 5-2 when the match was left unfinished after Marquette won the doubles point.  Riera and Dinkov have played together four times this spring at No. 2 doubles with a 3-0 record and the unfinished match from Saturday.

Tyler Carlin and Max Pilipovic-Kljajic have also found success playing at No. 3 doubles with the pair holding a 3-1 record over the last four doubles matches.

Thomas Wallace is second on the team with four singles wins this spring while four other Panthers are tied with three wins each.

EIU will be playing Chicago State for the 18th time with the Panthers leading the all-time series 11-6.   CSU has won four straight in the series but enters the weekend at 0-11 this season.

EIU will open conference play next weekend hosting Southern Indiana and Tennessee Tech next weekend at Darling Courts.
