The 2023 Ohio Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship will tee-off this weekend at the Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The event will be held April 23-26 and marks the second-straight year the event has been at the course.

This year's event once again includes three rounds of stroke play followed by the top four teams advancing to Match Play on the final day. Last year was the first time Match Play has been used to determine the OVC Champion, with UT Martin topping Tennessee Tech in the final match.

The men's golf championship will feature nine teams - Eastern Illinois, Lindenwood, Little Rock, Morehead State, SIUE, Southern Indiana, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and UT Martin. It marks the first year for Lindenwood, Little Rock and Southern Indiana in the OVC. The teams will have a practice round on Saturday and tee off on Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m.

Eastern Illinois is currently led in season stroke average by Keegan Gowin and Pierce Allord, both players with an average of 77.3 this season.   Ben Lanman and Preston Smith are just behind Gowin and Allord in individual scoring this season.  EIU's best team scoring round this season was 292 at the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invite.  EIU's best individual round was turned in by Gowin and Smith, both with rounds of 70.

This year's All-OVC awards as well as the Player, Freshman and Coach of the Year awards will be announced at a banquet on Sunday night following the first round of play.  The All-Tournament and Tournament MVP awards will be presented at the conclusion of stroke play on Tuesday.

Dalhousie, a Nicklaus designed course, varies from undulating terrain to old growth forests to spectacular water holes, while gnarly-edged bunkers, imaginative green complexes, immaculate Zoysia fairways and large, rectangular bentgrass tee boxes add dimension and challenge. The venue has hosted numerous championships and been ranked the No. 1 course in Missouri by Golf Digest multiple times.

For the Championship, the course will be par 72 with yardage running between 6,856 and 7,154 yards.

Live scoring results from each day of the championship can be accessed through links at OVCSports.com.
