Eastern Illinois men's golf returned to the links on Tuesday as the Panthers competed in the one-day, 36-hole Keene Trace Collegiate hosted by Morehead State.
 
The Panthers finished second as a team just six strokes behind tournament winner and fellow Ohio Valley Conference member Morehead State.
 
As a team EIU shot 598 for the 36-holes with rounds of 308 and 290.  Two Panthers finished in the individual top ten which was led by a three-way tie with players from Xavier (Kyle Smith and Sam Fauver) and one from Kentucky (Chase Cauthen) all shooting even totals of 144.
 
EIU's two top ten finishers were Jack Yewchuk playing as an individual and Cole Jaworski, both players with scores of 149.  Yewchuk had rounds of 75 and 74.  Jaworski shot rounds of 76 and 73.
 
Luke Watson and Alex Siatos were tied for 16th in the field with both players just one stroke back of Yewchuk and Jaworski at 150.  Watson had rounds of 77 and 73. Siatos shot 79 and then the low EIU round of the day, a closing 71.
 
Jack Roche was tied for 20th with a score of 151 (78-73).  Ian Hollander was 27th with a score of 154 (77-77).
 
Trey Oswald and Reis Claybrooke closed out the EIU golfers.  Oswald was tied for 29th at 157 (80-77).  Claybrooke played as an individual shooting 160 (81-79) to tied for 37th.
