Men's Golf Wraps Up Action At Gulf Coast Collegiate

Panthers place 13th led by Jack Roche in 34th

Eastern Illinois men's golf opened the spring portion of its season this week playing at the New Orleans Gulf Coast Collegiate. 
 
The 54-hole event was played at English Turn Golf and Country Club in New Orleans with the Panthers placing 13th in the field with a team score of 968.  The best team round of 320 came during the second round on Monday afternoon.
 
Jack Roche was the Panthers top individual in the field finishing in 34th with a 54-hole score of 235.  His best round of 77 came on Tuesday on the Par 72 course that played at slightly over 7,100 yards.
 
Luke Watson was EIU's second highest finisher in a tie for 40th.  Watson carded back-to-back rounds of 78 on Monday afternoon and Tuesday to shoot 238.
 
Ian Hollander and Jack Yewchuk both tied for 68th in the field with 54-hole scores of 250.  Hollander's best round was 78 on Monday afternoon while Yewchuk's best round was an opening 82.
 
Reis Claybrooke closed out the scored EIU golfers in 76th with a score of 259.  The freshman had his best round of 84 on Monday afternoon.
 
Senior Trey Oswald played as an individual for the Panthers finishing in a tie for 44th.  He opened with his low round of 78 on Monday morning.
 
Augusta College was the team champion with two golfers from Augusta among the three that tied for individual medalist honors after 54-holes of regulation.  Chapman Barnett and Pieter Rossouw of Augusta tied with Jospeh Dolezal of St. John's (NY).
