The Eastern Illinois men's cross country / track & field program had three athletes recognized as Academic All-District honorees as College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) released its men's and women's cross country/track & field Academic All-District rolls this week. Earning Academic All-District honors for the Panthers were
Riley Baker,
Jonathan Kang and
Jaime Marcos.
All three EIU student-athletes will be on the ballot for Academic All-America consideration. EIU has had 47 Academic All-Americans including four from men's cross country / track & field including Daniel Strackeljahn (2007 / 3rd Team), Mick Viken (2013 / 3rd Team & 2014 / 2nd Team) and
Jaime Marcos (2022 / 3rd Team),
Baker holds a 3.92 GPA in KSS: Teacher Education. Kang holds a 3.76 GPA in KSR: Teacher Licensure. Marcos holds a 3.94 GPA in Sports Administration.
EIU men's track and field wrapped up their regular season in mid-May with the Panthers winning the OVC cross country and indoor track titles this season.
