Eastern Illinois director of tennis
Paul Jarzynka has announced the addition of two players to the men's tennis team for next year with addition of transfers Zach White and Jon William Karlstad.

White is a transfer that played last season at Eastern Kentucky. He played at No. 6 singles for the Colonels while seeing time at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.  He picked up three wins in singles play and four in doubles action.  White opened his college career as a freshman in 2021-22 playing at Georgetown College. He played at the No. 2 spot in the line-up for the NAIA program picking up 11 wins in singles play. He would post another six wins in doubles action at the No. 2 doubles spot. Originally from Lexington, Ky., White attended Tates Creek High School. He was ranked No. 1 in Kentucky for the Class of 2021 earning Mr. Kentucky Tennis. He would reach the semifinals of the state tournament.Â

Karlstad is a transfer that played his freshman season at Eckerd College in Florida.  Karlstad played at No. 3 doubles during the season leading the team with ten wins including a doubles win over No. 3 nationally ranked Barry.  In singles action he played between the No. 3 and 6 spots in the line-up picking up three wins at No. 6 doubles. Karlstad is from Oppegaard, Norway where he attended Wang Toppidrett School.Â
