Eastern Illinois men's tennis returns a veteran roster from last season as the Panthers open the 2024 spring campaign this weekend with a pair of road matches at Ball State and Ohio State.

The Panthers return five of their six players that played in the singles seeded rotation last year.Â
Thomas Wallace picked up the most individual wins last year going 9-11 including 8-8 when playing at the No. 5 spot in the rotation.

Cameron Slabbert played all of his season at the No. 1 spot in the order last year picking up four wins.Â
Pau Riera had six overall wins with four coming while playing at No. 2 singles.Â
Tyler Carlin had five overall wins collecting four of them at the No. 3 spot in the order.

Antonio Ayerbe Streubel appeared in 13 matches at No. 6 singles ending the year with three overall wins.

As a team EIU went 5-15 last season.

Ball State was 13-10 last season. The Cardinals will play at Butler on Friday before hosting the Panthers on Saturday.

Ohio State was 34-3 last season and the NCAA National Runner-Up.  This will be the season opener for the Buckeyes when they face EIU on Sunday.
