Tournament Results

Eastern Illinois men's tennis had a successful weekend hosting the EIU Panther Fall Invitational as they had one individual flight champion along with several other players that reached the flight championship or placed third.
 
Alex Aldaz won the Singles Flight A bracket with three wins.  He beat Indrek Soome of Lewis in the opening round 6-4, 6-4 and then Emilio Bravo of Northern Kentucky in the semifinals with a 6-1, 6-3 victory.  His final win came over Stefan Hester of Washington Univ., with a 2-6, 6-3, 12-10 win.
 
Pieke Bouman would place third in the Singles Flight A with a third place 6-1, 7-6 (6) win while Zach White had two wins in the Flight A consolation bracket to place fifth.
 
In Flight B Duarte Trocado and Tyler Carlin both posted opening round wins.  Trocado would advance to the finals losing in the championship match.  Along the way he had a 6-2, 6-2 win over Jackson Poulos of NKU and a 6-0, 6-7 (3), 10-8 win over Gabriel Haro Cuenca of Lewis.  Carlin won two matches and placed third winning that match 6-3, 3-6, 10-2.
 
In Flight C singles Gui Cauvilla placed third with a pair of wins including a 4-6, 6-0, 10-3 score in the third place match.  William Hays lost in the championship match of the flight after a 4-6, 6-4, 10-3 win in the semifinals.
 
In doubles action Carlin and White played in the A Flight losing in the championship match.  They posted earlier wins of 6-3 over NKU and 6-1 over Lewis.  Aldaz and Bouman placed third in the flight.
 
In doubles flight B, Cauvilla had a pair of wins playing one match with Fabien Planchard and one with Hays.  Ludolph Wiggett and Trocado picked up another win for EIU in doubles play.
