NORMAL, Ill. - Eastern Illinois indoor track and field finished their 2024 regular season off at the ISU Redbird Tune-Up on Friday evening. The Panthers had thirteen first place finishes during the meet.
In the women's field events,
Taylor Iverson had a strong performance in both the weight throw (17.21m) and shot put (13.00m), coming in first and second, respectively. She set a new personal best in both events. Her weight throw distance of 17.21m also marks her move from ninth to eight in EIU all time history.
In the triple jump,
Abby Venhaus came in first with a distance of 10.80m.
On the track side of the women's events,
Julia Monson won the 3000m race with a time of 11:04.02 with
Chloe Proffitt taking second at a time of 11:19.75.
Additionally, two other panthers also had personal bests at this meet. In the 60m dash
Devin Johnston set a new record of 7:98 after ranking sixth overall. With a seventh place finish in the mile race,
Kylie Haacke also had a new personal record of 5:13.36.
In the men's field events,
Porter Conroy took first in the high jump with a mark of 1.95m while
Zac Stout came in first in the long jump, setting a new personal best of 6.73m.
The Panthers put on a show with three personal bests set in the pole vault.
Declan Ritzenthaler came in first with a new best of 4.91m, setting a new score for 10th in EIU history. In second,
Michael Dietz set a new best of 4.01m, and tied with
Greg Downs, as both had the same mark this afternoon. Still in the pole vault and setting a new personal best was
Aiden Meyer, with a fifth place finish and height of 3.76m.
In the weight throw,
Matthew Gladieux came in first with a mark of 18.76m. He also set a new personal best and moved from tenth to fifth in the school's all time list.

In the triple jump,
Drew Smith took first with a height of 13.25m.
On the men's side of track events,
Nathan Kirby took first in the 60m hurdle with a time of 8:38, and
Greg Downs came in third with a time of 8:88. This also marks Downs' personal best in the event.

Jahleel Perrin ranked first in the 60m dash (6:99) while
Qwinsuan Anderson brought home gold in the 200m dash with a time of 23:53.
T.J. Garland also won a first place finish in the mile run and set a new personal record with a time of 4:25.95.
EIU also swept the 3000m race, taking first and second place finishes with
Mario Torres and
Jonathan Kang. Torres came in first with a time of 8:50.37 and Kang finished second with a time of 8:55.03. These times also mark the new personal best for both Panthers.
EIU will be back in action next week, as they travel to Birmingham, Ala. for the OVC Indoor Championships. The meet will start on Wednesday, Feb. 21 and continue on Thursday, Feb. 22. Results will be updated daily.
