BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - Prior to the start of the Championships, the Ohio Valley Conference announced this morning that Taylor Iverson from the indoor track team earned the Co-OVC Field Athlete of the Week award after her performance at the ISU Redbird Tune-Up Meet hosted at Illinois State last weekend.

Iverson won the weight throw with a distance of 17.21m (56' 5.75"), and not satisfied, she also brought home a second place finish in the shot put with a distance of 13.00m (42' 8"). Both marks serve as Iverson's new personal best in the events.
 
The weight throw mark also puts the experienced thrower in eighth place for school's all-time list. 

The EIU Indoor Track and Field began competitions on the first day of the OVC Championships hosted in Birmingham, Ala., today. The Panthers will resume the fight for the conference title on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 9 a.m.
