MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Eastern Illinois men's and women's swim teams wrapped up competition at the Summit League Championships on Saturday evening. Both EIU teams placed eighth overall.
On the final day of competition,
Corinne Staneart finished third in the B final of the women's 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:21.98, which is the third fastest time in school history.
Later on,
Olivia Viele advanced to the B Final of the 200 butterfly where she placed second with a time of 2:09.06, which is also a school all-time second best.
In the 400 free relay, the women's team of
Autumn Grinter,
Phoebe Croston,
Kaylan Ottosen, and
Izzy Glasgow recorded a time of 3:35.65 to finish eighth.
Meanwhile, the men's team of
Conner Colston,
Dismas Dillon,
Jacob Wienants, and
Spencer Wilson combined for a time of 3:06.07 for a seventh place finish.
With the conclusion of the Summit League Championships, the Panthers' swim season comes to a close.
EIU recorded five school top ten times at the four-day meet, including one school record set by
Dismas Dillon in the 50 free (20.28).
