Saint Louis Billiken Invitational ResultsÂ
ST. LOUIS, Mo. — On a weekend of two meets, the Panthers split their squad in half to send athletes to both the Billiken Invite, held in St. Louis, Mo., and the Ole Miss Joe Walker Invite, held in Oxford, Miss. In St. Louis, the Outdoor Track & Field wrapped up their participation in the Saint Louis Billiken Invitational this evening posting one first place finish with several athletes setting new personal records.
To begin things on Friday, distance runner
Rachel Koon swept the 3000m steeplechase for EIU after ranking first with a time of 11:47.14.
Freshman sprinter
Devin Johnston ranked third in the 400m dash with a time of 59.36. The mark serves as Johnston's new personal best in the event. Johnston also added a seventh place finish in the 200m dash for the Panthers, crossing the finish line in 26.39 seconds.

In the women's 100m dash,
Shamera Moore was fourth with a time of 12.75, also setting a new personal best.
Susan Gruszka set a new career best in the women's 100m hurdles, ranking fifth with a time of 16.56. In the 200m, Gruszka ranked tenth with a time of 26.80.
During the women's 800m,
Anna Bieber was fourteenth with a time of 2:32:46 while
Isabel Arthur ranked seventeenth with a time of 2:38.31.
On the men's side of the track events,
Michael Atkins finished the 5000k in third place, with a time of 15:07.71. Holding the eight place with a time of 15:51.53 was
Jonathan Kang, another Panther to rank in the top ten of the event.
In the men's 1500k,
Noah Schalliol and
Mario Torres also achieved new personal bests, as both crossed the finish line among the top twenty. Schalliol had a time of 4:06.26 while Torres posted a time of 4:07.01.
Trevor Murphy was another Panther to rank among the top twenty of the event with a time of 4:06.54.
In the men's 100m dash, five athletes finished the race within the top twenty, as
Qwinsuan Anderson ranked eleventh (11.45),
Landon Webb was sixteenth (11.70), followed by
Aiden Meyer (11.80) and
Zac Stout (11.82) who were seventeenth and eighteenth, respectively. The Panthers also had
Drew Smith closing out the top twenty with a time of 11.95.

In Friday's field events in St. Louis, the Panthers had three athletes finishing within the top ten of the women's hammer throw.
Taylor Iverson ranked fourth (49.57m),
Clayre Shaver was sixth (46.85m), and
Jenna Grzeskowiak placed eighth with a mark of 44.66m.
Iverson and Shaver would not stop there with top ten finishes, as they added a third (12.93m) and tenth (11.41m) place finish in the shot put respectively.
Caroline Lendy had a season best in the javelin throw, ranking second with a distance of 38.92m.
Holly Vogt ranked fourth in the long jump with a distance of 5.19m.Â
Moving on to the men's side of field events,
Alex Stout finished third in the shot put with a distance of 15.15m.
Stout was also able to pull a sixth place finish in the hammer throw, with a distance of 40.18m. The Panthers also had Eric Malinowski ranking eighth with a new personal best of 38.68m and
Jacob Maxwell coming in ninth (38.22m) among top ten in the event.Â
Zac Stout finished second in the pole vault with a mark of 4.55m.
In the long jump,
Shawn Lacy also finished second with a distance of 6.53m, setting his new pr in the event.

At the Billiken Invitational, some field events were suspended at the end of Friday due to darkness. These events are yet to be completed and the results will be available tomorrow.
OLE MISS JOE WALKER INVITATIONAL: After the end of day one in Oxford, the Panthers had
Makenna McBride (24.91) and
Abby Venhaus (25.49) finishing among the top twenty in the 200m dash. On the men's side of the event,
Ricky Johnson placed seventh with a time of 21.58,
Cameron Yarbrough finished in ninth place with a time of 21.58 while
Brailyn Johnson earned the sixteenth spot with a time of 21.93.

The Panthers concluded the day in Oxford with the field events, where
Bradley Olysav ranked eighth in the men's hammer throw with a distance of 57.16m.
Matthew Gladieux finished in twelfth place with a mark of 50.88m.
In the women's long jump,
Abby Venhaus was fourth with a distance of 5.76m while
Greg Downs finished ninth (6.80m) on them men's side.
The Panthers will be back in action tomorrow, for the second day of competition at the Ole Miss Joe Walker Invitational. Running events set to start at 10 a.m., followed by field events at 10:30 a.m.
