RICHMOND, Va. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America has announced their selections for the Spring 2024 Scholar All-America teams, with both the Eastern Illinois men's and women's teams receiving the prestigious honor.
A total of 722 teams from 417 institutions were selected, representing a total of 17,162 student athletes. In order to qualify for the recognition, teams had to earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 during the Spring 2024 semester. Of the selected teams, an impressive 563 achieved a GPA of 3.30 or above.
The EIU women finished the fall semester with a 3.48 total GPA, while the men recorded a total GPA of 3.09. It is the second consecutive semester that both the men's and women's teams has been named to the CSCAA Scholar All-America team.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) is the nation's oldest organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming a diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.

Columbia posted the top NCAA Division I GPA among men's programs at 3.85 while Saint Louis posted a 3.86 Spring GPA to lead the Division I women. The honor includes swim programs at all three NCAA Divisions along with NAIA and two-year college programs.Â
