Eastern Illinois director of tennis
Robin Cambier has announced the addition of seven players to the Panthers men's roster as EIU looks to rebuild its team in Cambier's second season.

Set to join the Panthers this upcoming season are Pieke Bouman, Alex Aldaz, Duarte Trocado, Ludolph Wiggett, Michael Schut, Fabien Planchard and Gui Cavilla.

Pieke Bouman is the Maastricht, The Nederlands. He is a transfer that has previous NCAA Division II playing experience at both Young Harris College (Georgia) and Lander University (South Carolina). During two seasons at Young Harris College he played a the No. 1 singles position winning five matches at No. 1 singles as a freshman and six matches during his sophomore year at the No. 1 spot. He played doubles in both seasons teaming with fellow newcomer Michael Schut during the 2023 season.  Bouman would post ten doubles wins during two seasons of match play at Young Harris. During his one season at Lander he played in just three matches all in doubles play posting a 2-1 record at the No. 3 doubles position. At the juniors level Bouman competed in four ITF Junior Tournaments in Belgium reaching a career-best No. 2427 ITF Junior World Ranking. He was ranked in the Top 125 players in The Nederlands. Bouman hails from a tennis family with his mother Henriette Knols playing collegiate tennis at the University of Arizona and his younger brother Lewie Bouman starting his freshman season at Idaho State.

Alex Aldaz is from San Sebastian, Spain. He has reached No. 200 in the men's tennis Spanish rankings. He was recently the Regional U18 Tennis Champion of the Basque Country and will play in the Spanish National U18 Championships in August prior to attending Eastern Illinois.Â

Duarte Trocado is from Albufeira, Portugal. He has extensive experience playing in his home nation with 21 ITF Junior appearances in Portugal. He has reached a career-best ITF Junior World Ranking of No. 2588. He has appeared in five ITF men's professional tournaments in Portugal and reached No. 2045 (singles) and No. 2126 (doubles) in the men's ITF World Rankings. Trocado advanced to the semifinals of the Portuguese Junior National Championships.

Ludolph Wiggett is from Melbourne, Australia. He has competed on the international level with experience across the South Pacific ranging from tournaments in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. He reached a career-best ITF Junior World Ranking of No. 2071.  In 2023 Wiggett advanced to the round of 16 of the U18 Australia Cup. He has reached the quarterfinals in doubles at both the ITF J100 in Auckland, New Zealand and the J60 Lautoka in Fiji.

Michael Schut is from Woerden, The Nederlands. He is a transfer that played two seasons at NCAA Division II member Young Harris College in Georgia.  While at Young Harris he helped the program win the Conference Carolinas regular season title and was a teammate of fellow newcomer Pieke Bouman during the 2023 season. As a sophomore he played in 17 matches during the spring season with 15 appearances at the No. 1 doubles position posting two wins. Schut played in two singles matches during the season at the No. 6 singles spot in the order. As a freshman he played in 14 doubles matches picking up two wins during the season competing in all three spots of the doubles playing order. He played in four singles matches finishing with a 3-1 record playing at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots in the order. As a high school level player he was ranked in the Top 210 of all men's tennis players in the Nederlands. He reached multiple quarterfinals and semifinals in both singles and doubles of the Dutch National Championships. His sister Emily Schut played her freshman season at Marshall University under coach Cambier, and now she now plays at Western Kentucky.

Fabien Planchard is from Frisange, Luxembourg. He has been the National Champion in Luxembourg in his age category multiple times through his junior career. He has competed in both the European Championships and Summer Cup representing his home nation of Luxembourg. On the ITF Junior level he competed in eight tournaments in both Luxembourg and Belgium with one ITF men's pro tournament event in Luxembourg.

Gui Cavilla is from Sao Paulo, Brazil. He competed in ten ITF Junior Tournaments across South America and the Dominican Republic. He reached a career-best ITF Junior World Ranking of No. 2039. In 2023 he reached the finals in doubles at the ITF Junior J30 Bowl in Montevideo, Uruguay. He has international experience in tournaments in Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia.
