Panthers Swimming Returns Home To Host UIndy On Senior Day

The Eastern Illinois Panthers have returned home after Thanksgiving break and will welcome UIndy to Padovan Pool on Saturday, December 6th, at 1:00 PM. EIU will honor their five seniors with senior day festivities.  


Men's Swimming: 

After placing 5th in the SIU A3 Performance Invite, the men's side will look to bounce back, led by their three seniors, Canyon Bain, Zach Clark, and Sebastian Rosales



Canyon BainBain has been a staple in the EIU program, including setting multiple records. During his junior year, Bain swam in eight meets and set two individual school records at the Summit League Championships. He broke the 100 Breaststroke record with a time of 56.01 and the 100 Fly with a time of 50.02. In addition, Bain helped set a new school record in the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 3.22.01. This season, Bain swam the Men 100 Yard Butterfly at the SIU A3 Performance Invite with a time of 51.99.   



Zach Clark: Zach Clark has collected multiple top five finishes in school history. As a junior, Clark posted a time of 6:44.29 in the 800 free relay, which was the second fastest time in school history. Clark also helped the 400 free relay team record a program top three finishing time at 3:02.52. At the SIU A3 Performance Invite, Clark swam the Men 200 Yard Freestyle and finished with a time of 1:45.14.  



Sebastian Rosales: Rounding out the list of seniors, Sebastian Rosales has left his mark, recording multiple top ten program finishing times. As a junior, Rosales recorded the fourth fastest time in EIU history in the 100 fly with a mark of 50.44 at the Summit League Championships. Also, he helped set a new school record in the 200 Medley Relay (1:30.24). Rosales led the Men 400 Yard Medley Relay to a 5th place finish with a team time of 3:25.20 in Carbondale, Illinois.  



Women's Swimming:  

Last time out, EIU women's swimming placed 5th in the SIU A3 Performance Invite but will look to bounce back while honoring two senior leaders. Genevieve Biberdorf and Bella Earll will be celebrated for their hard work and contributions to the program. 



Genevieve BiberdorfThe academic all-district swimmer has posted multiple top ten finishes in the EIU career times list. Last season, Biberdorf finished the 100 Breast with a time of 1:06.50, which ranks seventh on the EIU career list. She also posted a time of 2:20.99 in the 200 Breast, which ranked second on the EIU career list. Two weeks ago, Biberdorf swam in the Women 200 Yard IM and finished with a time of 2:10.57. 



Bella Earll: Bella Earll posted top times in individual events at the Summit League Championship last year. In the 50 Free, she posted a top time of 24.82 and 54.13 in the 100 Free. She has also competed in the 400 Free Relay, 800 Free Relay, 200 Medley Relay, and 400 Medley Relay. Against Olivet Nazarene, Earll placed third in the Women 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 56.63.  



About UIndy: The Greyhounds travel to Eastern Illinois after competing in the Toyota U.S. Open in Austin, TX. UIndy has also competed in the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup and against the fourth-ranked team in Division II, Grand Valley State. The Greyhounds are coached by Brent Noble, who was voted as the 2023 CSCAA Division II Men's Head Coach of the Year. Noble led UIndy to their first national team title in March of 2023. Noble and UIndy are led by two contributors from both teams. On the men's side, Zachary Anthony has the top time in the 50 Free at 19.85. On the women's side, Valentina Masella leads the way in the 100 Back with a time of 55.27.
