The Eastern Illinois men's and women's swim teams closed out their regular seasons this weekend, with the women picking up a win over Evansville on Friday.

The EIU women took down the Purple Aces by a score of 102-99 in Evansville.
Autumn Grinter and Syndey VanderVelde led the charge with two first-place finishes apiece. Grinter took gold in the 50 free (25.11) and 100 free (55.60), while VanderVelde prevailed in the 1,000 free (11:02.68) and 500 free (5:25.56).
Kaylan Ottosen also took home a gold with a time of 2:03.08 in the 200 free.
Corinne Staneart posted a pair of top-three finishes with a silver in the 200 IM (2:10.58) and 100 fly (59.40).
Kaitlyn Evans also made the podium twice with second-place finishes in the 200 free (2:03.69) and
Kaitlyn Evans (1:05.47).
Izzy Glasgow also earned a silver with a time of 25.21 in the 50 free.
On the men's side,
Dismas Dillon won two events with times of 21.66 in the 50 free and 47.30 in the 100 free.
Eddie Myers also picked up a gold with a time of 4:53.46 in the 500 free.
A claw of Panthers also posted second-place finishes, including
Andrew Simonek in the 1,000 free (10:35.06),
Spencer Wilson in the 200 free (1:47.55),
Conner Colston in the 100 IM (1:58.64),
Sebastian Rosales in the 100 fly (53.24),
Andrew Herman in the 100 back (52.91), and
Nolan Wallace in the 100 breast (59.11).
ILLINOIS RECAP
The women concluded their season with a dual at Illinois on Saturday, falling by a score of 73-108.
Anna Mueller took first-place in the 500 free (5:39.77) while Syndey VanderVelde came out on top in the 100 breast (1:12.60).Â
The Panthers also won the 200 free relay with
Autumn Grinter,
Izzy Glasgow,
Kaylan Ottosen, and
Corinne Staneart combining for a time of 1:40.52.Â
Next up for the Panthers is the Summit League Championships in Iowa City. The event is set to get underway on Wednesday, February 19th at Campus Recreation and Welness Center.Â
