Dillon Wins Bronze On Final Day Of Summit League Championships

Dillon and Myers both set EIU records

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Eastern Illinois men's and women's swim teams concluded the 2024-25 season at day four of the Summit League Championships on Saturday, with Dismas Dillon taking home a bronze medal.

Dillon posted a school-record time of 44.35 in the 100 free to finish third place in the A-final, earning the first top-tree finish of the weekend for Eastern. It was Dillon's second record-setting time of the Championships after he set an EIU top mark in the 50 free on Thursday.

Eddie Myers also set a new school record with a time of 1:52.94 in the 200 butterfly, which placed him fifth in the B-final.

Meanwhile, Corinne Staneart finished fifth in the 200 breast A-final with a time of 2:19.55, which is the second fastest mark in school history.

She was followed closely by Genevieve Biberdorf with a time of 2:20.99, which is third in the Eastern record books.

Back on the men's side, Andrew Herman posted a top-five program mark with a time of 2:06.39 in the 200 breast prelims.

The Panthers finished the weekend strong, with both the men and women posted top-five EIU times in the 400 free relay.

First, the women's team of Autumn Grinter, Izzy Glasgow, Kaylan Ottosen, and Corinne Staneart posted a time of 3:33.16 for the fourth fastest mark in Panthers history.

Next, the men's squad of Conner Colston, Spencer Wilson, Zach Clark, and Dismas Dillon closed out the season with a mark 3:02.52, which is third fastest all-time for the program.

EIU swimmers recorded a total of 37 EIU top-ten times over the four day event, including nine school records.
