Eastern Illinois men's tennis opens Horizon League play this weekend as the Panthers host Tennessee State on Saturday morning at the Rex Darling Tennis Courts.
 
EIU split a pair of matches last week in St. Louis with the Panthers winning the doubles point in both contests.
 
Zach White and Tyler Carlin won twice at No. 2 doubles with Pieke Bouman and Duarte Trocado winning twice at No. 3 doubles.
 
EIU has now played with 15 different doubles combinations.   White and Carlin have posted a 5-1 record playing as a doubles team including 5-0 at the No. 2 doubles spot in the order.
 
In singles play last week Trocado was the lone player to pick up wins in both matches as he improved to 4-12 on the season.
 
Alex Aldaz has the most wins in singles play with seven. 
 
EIU was picked to finish fifth in the Horizon League preseason poll with TSU selected to finish second with both teams playing the South Division.  The top three teams in both the North and South Divisions will advance to the end of season Horizon League Tournament in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
