Eastern Illinois women's tennis will open play at the 2025 Ohio Valley Conference Tennis Tournament this Thursday with action set for the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

EIU will play as the No. 6 seed in this year's event facing No. 3 seed and OVC newcomer Bryant in Thursday's quarterfinal match at 6 p.m.

EIU tied for third in the OVC regular season standings with a 3-3 conference record following its win over SIUE this past Saturday.

The OVC Tournament field seedings were determined with the top two seeds represented by the top finishers in the OVC regular season standings with seeds 3 through 8 then determined by ITA rankings.

This marks the second time in the last three years that EIU has placed third in the regular season standings. EIU finished the overall regular season with a 6-16 record.

Charleigh Fay and
Luisa Renovales Salazar both led the Panthers with eight singles wins. Fay was 5-1 in OVC play while Renovales Salazar was 4-2 in conference play.

Ornella Lomenzo posted seven singles wins while
Aleyla Wooten had six singles wins.
Â
In doubles play Wooten and Fay were teamed together for the latter portion of the year finishing with a 5-2 record with one match unfinished.

The winner of the EIU / Bryant match will face the winner of the Western Illinois / Southern Indiana match, with the semifinal contest set for 2 p.m. on Friday.
