Men's 8K Results  |  Women's 6K Results

Eastern Illinois cross country returned to action on Saturday morning facing a competitive field at the John McNichols Invite in Terre Haute, Indiana.
 
The EIU women placed fourth in the meet contested at the 6K distance while the Panther men finished in fifth during the 8K race.
 
Michael Atkins and Brenda Torres both finished in eighth place to lead their respective EIU squads.  Atkins covered the men's course in 25:18.96 while Torres posted a time of 22:12.19 for the women.
 
EIU then had a solid grouping between 19th and 30th place for its next scored four runners in the women's meet.  Rylea Borgic was 19th at 22:52.77.  Avery Braker (24th), Olivia Esche (28th) and Sophie Krueger (30th) rounded out the five Panthers scored runners.   Braker had a 6K time of 23:03.37.  Esche posted a time of 23:14.94.  Krueger crossed in 23:22.88.
 
The EIU women's sixth and seventh runners were Ashlyn Denney (38th / 23:47.58) and Chloe Proffitt (45th / 24:05.05).
 
On the men's side Tyler Dillon crossed in 25th place with a time of 26:01.27.  Cale Smith, Brad Ahrens and Aidan Gonzalez were the next three EIU scored runners finishing between 32nd and 50th place.  Smith was 32nd at 26:14.21.  Ahrens was 36th with a time of 26:16.04.  Gonzalez finished 50th with a time of 26:35.75.
 
The EIU men's sixth and seventh runners were Mason Stoeger (57th / 26:46.41) and Sebastian Meyer (62nd / 27:03.23).
 
Miami (Ohio) won both the men's and women's team titles.  Samuel Lea of Evansville was the men's individual champion with Marisa Heil of Miami winning the women's race.
