Eastern Illinois wrapped up day two of the Summit League Championships with prelims and finals of each respective event. The 500 Free Prelims, 200 IM Prelims, 50 Free Prelims, and 200 Free Relays were completed today.
Men's Swimming:
Eddie Myers competed in the 500 Free Prelims, earning a 17th place finish with a time of 4:37.00. Myers' time ranks 4th in EIU history. Landon Badstibner also competed in the 500 Free, finishing with a time of 4:48.08. Jack Rivera and Thomas Miller were right behind Badstibner with a time of 4:51.60. Miller finished with a time of 4:52.08.
Luke Helm finished 27th in the 200 IM Prelims with a time of 1:54.14, which ranks 7th in EIU history. Simonas Rimskis finished one spot behind Helm with a time of 1:54.49, which ranks 8th in program history.
The 200 Freestyle Relay squad placed 7th with a final time of 1:22.67, which ranks 5th in EIU history. The relay team consisted of Alexander Sadowski, Luke Helm, Simonas Rimskis, and Canyon Bain.
Women's Swimming:
Anna Mueller competed in the 500 Free Prelims, scoring 24th with a finals time of 5:15.73, which ranks 10th in program history. Remingtyn Bokos finished the 500 Free with a time of 5:20.56. Emma Crider was right behind Bokos with a time of 5:39.03.
Sydney VanderVelde finished 18th in the 200 IM Prelims with a time of 2:07.81, which ranks 2nd fastest in program history. Genevieve Biberdorf also competed in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.92, ranking 5th all-time. Kaitlyn Evans completed the 200 IM with a time of 2:18.99.
Bella Earll placed 32nd in the 50 Free Prelims with a time of 24.67. Jenna Patridge also competed in the 50 Free Prelims with a time of 24.90.
The Panthers rounded out day two with a 7th place finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a final time of 1:38.21. The relay team consisting of Bella Earll, Jenna Patridge, Sara Boric, and Sophia Buswell
The Panthers will compete on day three of the championships, tomorrow, Friday, February 20th.
