Kenney Leads EIU Women's Golf At Indiana State

Freshman posts Top 20 finish for Panthers

Eastern Illinois women's golf closed out the regular season portion of its schedule on Monday completing play at the Indiana State Spring Invitational.
 
The Panthers finished fourth in the field during the 36-hole event played at the Country Club of Terre Haute.  EIU posted a team score of 654.  The Panthers return to action this Sunday at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships in Dalton, Ga.
 
Freshman Addison Kenney was the Panthers top finisher in the event in a tie for 17th with a two-day total of 161.  Kenney opened play on Sunday with a round of 80.
 
Mya Mirocha was the Panthers opening round leader with a round of 76 but finished tied for 20th with a total of 162.
 
Sophia Miller, EIU's top finisher in the three previous spring tournaments, placed 24th.  Miller shot 167.
 
Meera Upadhyay tied for 25th with a closing round of 80 on Monday bringing her 36-hole total to 168.
 
Morgan Grant was EIU's final scored golfer with a score of 170 landing her in 29th.
 
Senior Olivia Quigley played as an independent in the tournament finishing tied for 31st with a total of 172.
 
Evansville won the team title with the Purple Aces Evgeniia Grankina the individual medalist.
