Eastern Illinois outdoor track and field returns to action for its fourth meet of the outdoor season as the Panthers will compete at the Indiana State Gibson Invite in Terre Haute.
 
EIU will send several athletes to compete in the women's heptathlon and men's decathlon beginning on Thursday (10 am ET) and concluding Friday (9:30 am ET).  Friday's field events begin at 12 pm (ET) with the hammer while Friday running events start at 6 pm (ET) with the steeplechase.  Saturday's full day of competition starts with several field events at 11:30 am (ET) followed by running events at 12 pm (ET).
 
The Panthers posted ten first place finishes at last week's Illinois Deca-Jam with five total EIU Top 10 performances.
 
Entering the week EIU has four athletes that currently rank first in an event in the OVC with Ashlyn Denney (W 800m), Machi Nelson (M Long Jump), Alex Stout (M Shot Put) and Shawn Lacy (M Javelin).  Nelson is currently ranked 31st in the NCAA West Region in the long jump while Lacy is ranked 46th in the NCAA West Region in the javelin.
 
Last weekend Lacy won a pair of events taking home first in the 100 meter dash and the javelin.  His throw of 201'05" in the javelin landed as the eighth best throw in school history.
 
Analena Peterson won the women's 200 meter run with a time of 24.28 which ranked eighth best in school history. She also ran the anchor leg on the 4x100 relay team that posted the third best time in school history at 45.65 picking up a first place finish.
 
Additional first place finishes on the track included Rylea Borgic (W Steeplechase), Tyler Miller (M 400 hurdles), Devin Johnston (W 400m) and Ayden Cothern (M 200m).  Maliek Bush (M Long Jump) and Marco Reynolds (W Discus) collected first place field event finishes. 
 
The other two EIU top ten performances at the meet were turned in by Layla Bonilla and Alex Stout.  Bonilla cleared 39'11.50" in the triple jump for the eighth best mark in school history.  Stout had a hammer throw of 182'9" to land at ninth all-time.
