PEORIA, Ill. --  Eastern Illinois women's tennis snapped a four-match losing streak on Friday, as the Panthers won a 6-1 road match versus Bradley.  EIU improves to 3-6 overall at the mid-point of the spring campaign.

After sweeping all three duo matches to earn the all-important doubles point, the Panthers proceeded to win five additional singles bouts as Janelle Prisner, Merritt Whitley, Sephora Boulbahaiem, Jennifer Kim, and Amanda Dibbs all picked up victories.

"It was a good all around effort from everyone today," said EIU head coach John Blackburn.  "I was particulary happy with how we came out to start the singles matches.  I thought everyone started with great focus."

Both Prisner and Dibbs each won in straight sets at their respective No. 1 and No. 5 matches to improve to 5-4 overall in singles action.

Whitley and Kim also earned decisive straight-set victories at No. 2 and No. 4 singles, respectively, while newcomer Boulbahaiem earned a nice No. 3 three-set singles win.

In doubles, the No. 1 duo of Prisner/Whitley out-paced their BU opponent by an 8-2 final, while Dibbs joined Annie Egan and Boulbahaiem teamed with Laird for identical 8-5 wins at their respective No. 2 and No. 3 bouts.

"We'll take a few days off and look forward to our upcoming three-match homestand," said Blackburn.

The Panthers will now have nearly two weeks to prepare for the squad's home opener versus IUPUI on March 20.  First serve is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at EIU's Rex Darling Courts.
