CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Eastern Illinois women's tennis continues road action this weekend as the Panthers face Bradley at noon on Friday (Feb. 21) and Chicago State on Sunday (Feb. 23) at 3 p.m. Both events will be held in respective indoor Clubs of River City and Homewood-Flossmor Racquet Club facilities.

The Panthers own a perfect 3-0 record in the early-season, but have not played in nearly two weeks as last weekend's match at Evansville was postponed due to inclement travel weather.

Having lost three straight matches, Bradley currently owns a 1-3 overall mark, while Chicago State sits at 3-5 on the year prior to a pair of Saturday home contests. The Cougars recently dropped a match to fellow OVC foe SIU Edwardsville.
Sophomore Ali Foster currently sports the top EIU singles mark with a perfect 3-0 record at the No. 4 spot in the Panther lineup.

Meanwhile, four players enjoy a 2-1 singles tally on the year, led by senior Janelle Prisner's single play at the top of the lineup. Newcomer Kelly Iden and junior Sephora Boulbahaiem have both split time the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, while sophomore Hannah Kimbrough rounds out the foursome with her own 2-1 record at No. 5 singles.

In doubles action, Prisner and Boulbahaiem have combined for a perfect 3-0 No. 1 duo mark.

"We're really excited to get back on the court this weekend," said EIU director of tennis and women's head coach John Blackburn. "It will be a good challenge for us to play two very good teams this weekend and to be mentally and physically ready for a full weekend of travel and tennis.

"But that's what we'll need to do in order to be successful in the OVC," he continued, "and with our first conference match just around the corner, this weekend will be a good test to see how we are prepared for busy weekend action."

Following this weekend's play, the Panthers will next travel to Indy to play at University of Indianapolis on Saturday, March 1, with first serve set for noon (central time).
