CARBONDALE, Ill. --
Eastern Illinois women's tennis earned a 5-2 road victory over Butler on Friday (Feb. 27) as the Panthers move to an even 3-3 record on the early-season.

With the doubles contest tied at one set apiece, the EIU senior/freshman team of Sephora Boulbahaiem and Grace Summers helped the Panthers earn the all-important duo point with a nice 7-5 win at the top of the lineup.

After the host squad picked up respective wins at No. 1 and No. 4 to take a 2-1 match lead, Eastern added four consecutive singles victories for the final margin of victory.

Ali Foster picked up a straight set win at No. 3, while Summers fought back after a first frame loss to earn consecutive 7-5 set wins at No. 2.

Hannah Kimbrough and Kamile Stadalninkaite added their own straight set victories at No. 5 and No. 5, as Kimbrough's victory would secure the win for the Panthers.

Eastern will now travel to Galesburg, Ill., to take on the Leathernecks of Western Illinois at 3 p.m., as the contest was pushed up a day due to forthcoming inclement weather on the originally scheduled Sunday afternoon date.
