CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Winning their fourth straight road match, Eastern Illinois women's tennis hit past Belmont, 4-0, on Tuesday (April 7) evening to improve to 12-4 overall and 7-1 in league play.
With inclement weather in the Nashville area, the match was moved north to the campus of Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn., with singles play only completed inside the Governor's own Indoor Tennis Center.
Junior Ali Foster moved to an impressive 14-2 in singles action as she got the Panthers' first singles win at the No. 2 spot, followed by freshman Grace Summer's No. 3 victory, as both won in straight sets.
Sophomore Kelly Iden also won in consecutive sets at the top of the lineup, while senior Sephora Boulbahaiem held on for a three set victory at No. 4.
With the early 4-0 win No. 5, No. 6 went unfinished and no doubles action was necessary as EIU earned the quick league win.
The ladies will now join the EIU men's squad for respective home finale duals versus Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky this coming Friday and Saturday (April 10-11).
