GAME 20:The Panthers head to Clarksville to begin a three-game road swing at Austin Peay. EIU is still looking for that elusive win following a 65-39 loss to UT Martin to open up the home and home portion of their conference schedule. With the loss the Panthers dropped to 1-18 and 0-7 in conference play. Austin Peay welcomes EIU having just finished a three-game road trip of their own. APSU is currently 6-13 so far this season and 4-2 in the OVC.Â
SHUMPERT OFF THE BENCH:Alece Shumpert was the bright spot for the Panthers in their game against UT Martin. The senior guard came off the bench to lead EIU in scoring. Shumpert's 14 points against the Skyhawks was almost half of the Panthers total points. Shumpert was one point shy of tying her season high set against Loyola-Chicago earlier this year.
THE BLOCK IS HOT:EIU recorded six blocks against UT Martin Wednesday night to give the Panthers 68 blocks on the season. The Panthers are currently fourth in the OVC for total blocks led by
Erica Brown and
Halle Stull. Brown earned two blocks against the Skyhawks to help her surpass Missy Beck for sixth all-time at EIU for career blocks. The junior forward has accumulated 101 blocks throughout her EIU career.
