GAME 13
The Eastern Illinois women's basketball team begins Ohio Valley Conference play Thursday evening as they host the Belmont Bruins at 6 p.m. The Panthers head into conference play at 4-8 overall after falling to Cincinnati 78-64 to close out non-conference play. EIU begins conference play looking to return to postseason play after missing out on the OVC tournament last season for the first time in eight years. EIU opens the OVC season hosting last year's tournament champions Belmont who come to Lantz Arena at 8-5 on the season.

THIRD TIMES THE CHARM
Freshman Allison Van Dyke has been a highlight of the EIU women's basketball team all season long earning her third OVC Freshman of the Week honor this week. Van Dyke overcame her two-game scoring slump netting 15 points against Cincinnati to tie her career high for the third time. The Westfield, Ind. native is one of three Panthers to start in every game so far this year averaging 10.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. She has scored in double-figures in eight games this season recording.

STRIVING FOR GREATNESS
The Panther's lone senior is securing her mark among some of EIU's best players in her final season. So far this year Erica Brown has accumulated 88 rebounds to lead the team and ranks fifth in the OVC with a 7.3 rebound per game average. Brown is just 25 rebounds shy of becoming the 15th member of the 600 career rebound club at EIU. The Hoyleton, Ill. native has also been setting the pace this season with 28 blocks on the year placing her third in the conference. Her stellar blocking performance this season has catapulted her to third all-time at EIU for career blocks with 144.
