GAME 24:The Panthers look to keep their momentum going as they begin the second leg of their home-and-home portion of the OVC schedule welcoming Austin Peay to Lantz Arena this Wednesday [Feb. 10]. EIU managed to get the monkey off their back in their last outing with a come from behind win against SEMO to snap the Panthers 21 game losing streak. EIU's victory over the Redhawks was the first conference win of the season for the Panthers as they improve to 2-21 and 1-10 in the OVC. APSU heads to Charleston currently 7-17 and 5-6 in the OVC having dropped their last four games.
JOHNSON TURNS IT ON LATE:Phylicia Johnson recorded one of her most productive games of the season as she tied her career high of 19 points against SEMO. Johnson only had four minutes of playing time in the first half with no stats to her name. The junior guard played all 20 minutes of the second half scoring 15 points in the fourth quarter to help EIU earn its first victory in nearly three months. Johnson also earned two steals and one rebound to go with her 19 points.
FOURTH TIME'S THE CHARM:Erica Brown recorded her fourth double-double of the season in EIU's win over Southeast Missouri as she earned 12 points and 10 rebounds. Brown currently leads the team in points and rebounds averaging 10 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. The junior forward ranks fifth in the OVC for rebounds per game with a season and career high of 16 rebounds against Loyola-Chicago.
