CHARLESTON Ill. - Eastern Illinois women's tennis team will play their final non-conference matches of the season this weekend against Arkansas State Saturday [Mar. 12] at 10 am. The Panthers then travel to Nashville to take on Lipscomb Sunday [Mar. 13] at 2 pm.
Grace Summers (7-1) will lead the Panthers into battle from the No. 3 spot. She and partner Hannah Kimbrough will look to add another win to their 5-3 record in doubles competition.
The 0-7 Red Wolves will look to turn their season around and pick up their first win of the season. They were beaten by OVC opponent Murray State in their last match 4-1 and have not picked up more than one point in a match all season. The Red Wolves have one more match before they take on EIU against Iowa State Thursday [Mar. 10].
Following the match at Arkansas State the Panthers had a late addition to the schedule with Lipscomb. LU is currently 8-2 on the season riding a seven game winning streak. Lipscomb has one more match before they face EIU against fellow OVC members Murray State Friday [Mar. 11].
The Panthers will look to close out their non-conference schedule with wins and earn some great momentum heading into conference play.
After this weekend's duals, the Panthers have a two-game home stand against Southeast Missouri, and UT Martin the following weekend [Mar. 18-19].
