MUNCIE, Ind. - The Eastern Illinois men's tennis team suffered it's second loss of the year Sunday falling at Ball State 7-0.

The Panthers have yet to beat Ball State in program history as the Cardinals now hold an 8-0 series record over EIU.

"We took on a very tough Ball State team," said coach Sam Kercheval. "A lot of credit to them for how this match went. Not only did they return all their starters from last year, but they improved a lot as well." 

Grant Reiman was one of the bright spots for the Panthers in the match pushing his opponent Nemanja Guzina, to a third set in the No. 3 position. Reiman would eventually lose 6-2, 4-6, 1-0.

"Despite what was on the scorecards," Kercheval continued "our guys really tried to figure it out, make an effort to try things that they normally wouldn't do, and continued to fight. We just ran into a better team today."

The Panthers will have almost a week to recover, before traveling to Indiana Saturday to take on the Hoosiers at 10a.m.
