VALPARAISO, Ind. - The Eastern Illinois men's tennis team fell to Valparaiso 7-0 Friday evening. The loss drops EIU to 1-7 on the year while Valpo improves to 6-1.
The Crusaders have now won the last four matches against EIU with three straight sweeps.
After securing the doubles point Valparaiso was tested in the top positions by the Panthers.
Freddie O'Brien took his opponent to three sets at the No. 1 spot eventually falling to Chad Kissell 3-6, 6-3, 10-7.
Grant Reiman and
Gage Kingsmith nearly forced a third set from the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, but fell 6-3, 7-5 and 6-4, 7-5 respectively.
The Panthers take the court again next weekend for matches against Southern Illinois Friday (Feb. 24) and Saint Joseph's College Sunday (Feb. 26).
